Ben Edmonds

Realizing at an early age that his desire to work in the music industry was not matched by his musical ability, Ben became determined to work on the business side of the industry. After completing a Bachelor of Business/Music Industry at Victoria University and relocating to London, Ben’s first music industry position was in the Business Affairs department of Sanctuary Records.  Following another move to Los Angeles, Ben gained invaluable experience in the royalty department of the business management firm David Weise & Associates and in-house with Warner/Chappell Music Publishing.

Ben spent 11 years managing the royalty department of the Los Angeles-based firm, Jess S. Morgan & Associates, before transitioning to The Gild Group in early 2023.  Ben’s team handles royalty accounting services for a variety of clients, including some of Australia’s best-known independent record companies and most successful artists.

• Comprehensive knowledge of music industry contracts, royalty statements and copyright Issues.
• Delivery of bespoke royalty statements to meet needs of individual clients.
• Expertise In cultivating relationships with key stakeholders including artists, managers, lawyers, and industry groups.
• Strong project management skillset with focus on exceeding client expectations.

Experience:

• Almost 15 years of royalty accounting experience within the business management industry, along with direct industry experience at a record company and music publishing company.
