What is the AusIndustry R&D Tax Incentive Customer Portal?
AusIndustry is a government agency in Australia responsible for administering various government programs, including the Research and Development (R&D) Tax Incentive program. They provide a customer portal to assist businesses in managing their R&D Tax Incentive claims.
The R&D Tax Incentive customer portal is a digital platform to facilitate the process of claiming the Research and Development (R&D) Tax Incentive. The R&D Tax Incentive is a government program designed to encourage businesses to invest in research and development activities by providing tax incentives or rebates.
The customer portal typically serves as an online interface where eligible businesses can:
- Register for the R&D Tax Incentive program.
- Lodge R&D Tax Incentive applications and claims.
- Manage and track the progress of their R&D claims.
- Communicate with government agencies responsible for administering the incentive program.

Planning – R&D Customer Portal Access (New Authorisation)
As part of the R&DTI Application process, we require CLIENT Pty Ltd to register for the R&D Tax Incentive through the AusIndustry Portal and to authorise Gild R&D Incentives and Grants Pty Ltd to act on your behalf. There are 2 steps to setting up the portal which I have outlined below:
Registering your business through the R&DTI Portal:
As a principal authority of CLIENT Pty Ltd, your myGovID shoould already be linked to the company’s ABN. This must be completed before you can authorise access to the customer portal for yourself or anyone else. If this has not been done for your business before, you can do this yourself as a principal authority:
- Set up your myGovID, if you haven’t already done so. You’ll need a myGovID to log in to ATO’s Relationship Authorisation Manager later. Click here to learn how to set up your myGovID.
- Contact the ATO to link your myGovID to your company’s ABN. Click here to find out how to link your business.
- Log in to Relationship Authorisation Manager Help and authorise yourself to act on behalf of your business in the R&DTI customer portal.
You can find additional help and support on the Relationship Authorisation Manager help page including contact details.
Once you have authorised yourself as a Principal Authority you can log into the R&DTI customer portal and register for the R&DTI.
